| 兒童外科再拾趣
繼普通外科後, 我係兒童外科又有機會縫針wo~ 不過今次係難度高少少ge Circumcision, 即割包皮.
原來割包皮應該都會幾痛. 之前係伊利莎伯見過局部麻醉割, 個細路成個過程係咁尖叫, 兩個護士捉實都幾乎掙扎彈起. 今次瑪麗係全身麻醉再加penial block做局部麻醉, 切個陣個細路都突然郁手郁腳! (我都係第一次見全身麻醉左都會郁)
做到尾要縫針, 醫生縫左左邊就俾我縫右邊. 上次就話手震, 今次幾好, 完成無震, 仿佛好似好專業咁. 我應該都縫得幾美滿, 希望佢之後唔好淨係右邊痛啦... 個細路都幾品學兼優, 又玩劍擊又吹木童笛. 希望你唔好痛咁耐啦~~

minor perineal trauma 就話係 balanitis
BB 三個月大流鼻水又話係鼻敏感, 又開steroid nasal spray 又開收鼻水葯. 真係呢......

| 外科拾趣
話說東華醫院日間手術中心d小手術, 例如切粉瘤. 脂肪瘤 會讓學生參與.
有一日醫生俾我洗手上檯. case 切背部小脂肪瘤, 係mud 都切晒, 差不多縫完針時, 係到左最後最無關痛癢的幾針時, 醫生遞d 針線俾我, 示意我做. 我接左d 工具. 心想睇都睇左N咁多次, 係豬手呀膠板呀又練過咁多次. 應該都係咁姐...
一落針, 再抽線, 手就控制唔到咁震. 自己都覺得好搞笑. 醫生用英文問 "Why are your hands shaking?" 我都笑住答佢 "I don't know as well..." 之後勉強繼續, 用多過平時幾倍的時間完成三針... (要注意病人係局部麻醉, 我希望佢唔識聽英文啦...)
之後再有機會上檯, 今次就順利好多. 始終真人都係有d唔同. 都係要突破自己一個心理關口~~

| Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine

I don't particularly enjoy paediatrics: not that the kids aren't cute and lovely, but there are simply too many sad stories in this specialty.

Mother with SMA son
SMA脊髓肌肉萎縮症 is an incurable disease which renders a person paralysed.
This kid inherited the most severe form of SMA, he can barely move even in mother's womb. After he was born, he could got a glimpse of this world, but he could not move. Mother has to cope with this incurable disease of her son, and her son probably wont get to grow up as an adult.
Everytime medical staff approach them, mom will talk to the son as if he was able to move, able to wave hi.
What can we do? Hum...

Cute little kid who looks like Monchhichi with IDDM 糖尿病
He needs daily finger pricking to monitor blood sugar level. Everytime he will choose one finger out of his ten for you to prick. Of course he doesn't cry because of the prick, or else he has to cry at least 3 times a day. Sounds cute. But that's how a disease trains up a kid to be tough.

A kid who is extraordinarily friendly with EVERYONE he sees in the ward.
While it was fun playing with him, one feels the other way deep down in the heart.
A child abuse case --- he was abused at his family, so he appears this friendly in the hospital.
There are too many of these cases, sad, incurable, unusually tough yet cute kids.
This is not exactly a happy specialty.

Two Weeks in Gynaecology 如果醫生係病人未開口已經知病人有咩唔舒服, 病人就會覺得醫生好厲害. 呢個情況中醫好常見, 病人未開口先把脈, 醫生就講出病人有咩唔舒服; 有時塔羅牌都可以做到. 但西醫咁情況就少之有少, 婦產科可能係一個例外. 產科: (病人行入來) "有左BB 呀?" "係呀係呀~~" (病人好開心) 婦科: (未收經病人) "D月經好麻煩呀?" "係呀係呀~~" (病人覺得醫生好厲害, 識睇穿人) (已收經病人) "有流血呀?" "係呀係呀~~" (病人覺得醫生好神奇, 睇樣知病) 就算問個無事無幹, refer 錯ge 病人 "D月經係咪好麻煩呀?" 佢都會話係~~ This is probably the nice part of O&G~~

| 那晚在婦科腫瘤病房內, 當我正聚精會神, 凝神貫注地抄排板時, 我overheard到護士同病人的一段對話 (一名老婆婆病人剛從廁所走出來回到床邊) 護士: 阿嬌! 你去廁所呀? ("拗"野講口吻) 婆婆: 係呀 護士: 你痾屎定痾尿啊? (我不禁抬頭望望佢地) 婆婆: (認真地) 痾屎啊! 護士: (面露燦爛的笑容) 係呀! 哇! 恭喜晒喔!! 真係好啦!! (這對話令我停左手, 目瞪口呆咁望住佢地) 這種對話只有在醫院裡才變得理所當然. 我不能想像有另一個場合讓此對話來得這麼理直氣壯. 最搞笑係婆婆仲要笑笑口答佢: 多謝晒喔!! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 原來婆婆一直便秘左好幾天, 今日終於如願以償, 如魚得水, 如虎添翼.... 除了搞笑, 我都覺得有點回心微笑. 做人要開心, 都係簡單D好. 值得恭喜的事情其實有好多, 至少三日都有一次. 下次大家都試試恭喜自己啦 ~~ | | |
